Puppies

My puppy...
Benjaman's puppy...

Apparently in a small town in NM they automatically euthanize stray puppies. Theses puppies are only 5.5 weeks old and were still nursing the day my mom took them from under an abandoned trailer's steps. The mama didn't defend her pups or come to my mom. The neighbor's had been putting out food for the mama. All puppies are healthy and doing fine. We have them all weaned. They are still pretty wobbly and their eyes are a little milky still. So Ben's been begging for a puppy for years so now he has his and I fell in love with one too, so now we have 2 puppies. That's 3 dogs total. good thing we live in the country. I think we're a little nuts! But aren't they cute! They are Border Collie/Australian sheep dog mix.

Chicks

We had 5 chicks hatch and survive out of 7. I think that's good. Here are the chicks outside today. It's still below freezing at night so they spend most of the day and night locked up with their mama. Aren't they cute!

More babies

This is an Auracana chick.
This is a Rhode Island Red and a Buff Orpington.

We lost a Silver Laced Wyandotte. All the chicks are part Buff Orpington.

So the total count so far is: 1 Rhode Island Red, 3 Buff Orpingtons, 1 Auracana
We've lost 1 baby and have 1 egg left to hatch!

New Life

We have 1 new chick and 1 pipped, that means it's started breaking through it's shell and should be out in 24 hours. The other 5 should be born Saturday. Yay!!!!
