Benjaman
competed in the Battle of the Books at Onate High School in Las Cruces this
past weekend. He had to read at least
10 of 20 books (he read 16). He was
placed on a team with kids from other schools and libraries. They were then asked questions about the
books and had to answer with the correct book title and author. Benjaman’s team tied 1 round and lost the
other 3, but he had a great time. He’s
already planning for next year’s Battle!
It
was nice for us to get out of town and see friends we hadn’t seen in
years. We were all surprised at how
much the kids had grown! Bo picked up a
truck from one of our friend’s to drive back and forth to work. His diesel was killing us in gas!
Our
Rhode Island Red chicken was found dead in the horse pen when we got home. She must have gotten trampled by the
horses. We buried her under the willow
tree where she liked to wallow with the other chickens.
